since i searched the internet for almost 4 hours and could not find complete instructions on installing this tachometer i thought i would post my install
the tach is a military issue tach made by dixson for the hmmwv.it is a 3500 rpm with an hour meter and light and does not have a pre wired...
my speedo reads 45 when going 55,i know the trans and transfercase is not original,it has a np242 case.i think it is set up for newer 3.08 gear
what speedo gear will correct it i have a 2.73
what holds the front outer part of the shaft in the hub?
i know you disconnect the 6 bolts at center pumpkin
i need to change the boot and don't want to break anything else trying to remove it

the hmmwv i bought from fort jackson in south carolina had a star in the middle of the hood and on the tailgate,
i am just wondering what they meant? or who would have driven this hmmwv,it was real clean and not abused
it also had a radio tray and i can tell they took out alot of electronics
