    5ton wreckers

About the turning radius , my M55 you end up doing a lot of 2 and 3 point turns. I'd hate to have a fifth wheel way back there it'd be like a stretched out road tractor.

    5ton wreckers

Man what a deal, you have got to be the luckiest man alive !! Them wreckers bring quite a bit of money running, I'd fix the brakes and keep it whole. Both of my 602's say that on the heads so that's what you got.So entertain us, what do you want for it whole ?

    Help with dash at night

My M55 has a signal stat liscence plate light ( directs the light down ) mounted over the guages on the instrument cluster , lights up all the guages but doesn't shine in your eyes ! I'm gonna do it to my M52 also. The light is made for trucks and trailers that have the plate mounted other than...

    changing compression ratio on 602

The 12 volt 602 distributor you have like mine comes from heavy equipment, my M54 had a rebuilt 602 from a grader installed along with all the related 12 volt equipment. The problem with raising the compression may come up in getting a stronger starter and depending on how high you go ,better...

13 speed in a five ton

The thing I'm wondering is if the top gears are overdrive ? Otherwise all you are gaining is closer ratio gears. Let me know if you find out I've got two gasser's.

Did you drive or ship your MV when purchased? Please read...

I bought one about 75 miles away ,the other was 150 miles away , drove both home no beds, no taillights, no tags ,no problems the cops just looked kind of puzzled but kept on going. I did have someone following me though. One was camo the other was still fire dept. red, that may be why I got...

5 ton axles on a deuce?

5 ton ratio is 6.44 , if you also have the rear suspension I'd use it , spreads the axles a little farther apart ( bigger tires )

    5 TON TRACTOR !!!

Yeah it was a gsa auction , speaking of ,one of the employees there said since the dept. of homeland security is giving first responders more money they are buying new trucks instead of using old military 6x6's. He said to expect to see a lot more of the army trucks coming up for auction! They...

I just got back yesterday from the Manhatan ,Kansas auction. BRAKES

I couldnt believe the price of the silicone so while I had the airpack apart when it all went back together I had to bleed the brakes anyway so I bought a gallon of the regular brake fluid. I just bled them out till I could see the color change ( old fluid ? ) They work fine so far and nothing...

    48's too small need 53's?

No I didnt flip the hubs yet, but you are right the 16's are cheaper ! Some coming up for auction in a couple weeks not too far away , I'm gonna bid on them !With the 14's and bridge truck wheels it will be too wide anyway so maybe dual 16's ! Lets see how well I fair on the auction coming up...

    48's too small need 53's?

Over the weekend I put on the 14x20's ( 48 in. ) there is still 6 in. of room from the front tandem tire to the rear one ! Does this mean the 53's will clear ? It figures I went bigger but not big enough , now all I need is some cheap 53's and off the 48's ! Did they actually build some 5 tons...

got a bunch done on the deuce this weekend

Got all the 11x20's off and 6 of the 14x20's back on , taller and meaner looking. Got to flip the hubs to get the duals on the rear. It's a lot of work without a big impact , but it's worth it ! Plus it'll be easier to shorten with just the outers on.

    M 35 6x6 with quadra steer 6x6x4?

Well, I still have the 5 ton axles some driveshaft flanges, a long wheelbase M55 ( plenty of frame ) long enough for aux. box. No bed on it but I went through the master cyl. and the airpack has great brakes now! $3000 or trade for 5 ton tractor , what ya think? [thumbzup]

    Sprag substitutes?

OK I've read every post on transfercases, so heres my question. Can the sprags be welded, pinned, bolted, or somehow made permanently fixed then maybe run some lockout hubs or desplined hubs to seperate the drivetrain? It seems as big a pain as these sprags are that maybe someone has tried this...

    16.00 R20's (52"tall) on a deuce! pic's too

That truck is wild! I'm curious as to the suspension arms on the rear, they didn't look homemade are they 5 ton or some other truck? The looks he must get when driving it, probably stops traffic! More pics please, some off road would be awsome!
