Hoping to wrap this up when I get home later in the week. Hard to get a long run in without the breaker tripping. Ordered some 1/4 plate to fill the circle.
Light switch is coming out perfect! Started working on some bumper modifications. For the money these airlift bumpers are quite the deal, scooped this one up for $100. I think the pintle hitches are cool, but swapping to a 2” receiver makes more sense, plus having a little rear step will be...
Trying to simplify the lighting, Power Distribution Solutions makes a really nice light kit that's universal. I've reach out them about creating a way to mount their switch in the dash. This would give a lot of people options, not just Humvee owners, would probably use it in my M715 as well...
First ride was a success!! Sounds great, very smooth!
I removed the transmission bypass valve, mounted the 3.5 Holley screen, cleaned up the battery compartment a bit (still have more to do here), added a fuel pressure transducer, and got it titled and registered in SC. Could have had it...
Glad I did this… aside from not really fitting properly the 5” rubber hose had actually begun to fall apart. Also, The body lift kinda puts the spout at a weird angle and it just made sense to get a longer hose and cut the filler neck down. The new 12” flexible hose has a steel spring lined core...
So close! I was secretly hoping to have this running before I got my title from GovPlanet. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. Got a few setbacks so I will most likely be next weekend before I hear it run. Battery mount should be here tomorrow so I can wrap that up. Also going to get a 12”...
Figuring out how and where to mount the fuel filter/regulator was a little challenging. On the M998 that was here there were not any hard mounted trans lines on the frame rail so it was easy to mount one there, not the case with the m1123. Made this overkill mount and got it where I wanted it...
I have the mile marker front winch plate on my m1123. From what I can tell the M8000 or 9.5RC would package well. I have a 10K Zeon here I might try and stuff in there. We will see....
Really thought I’d have this thing running and driving by now, but life happens. Got to spend a little time today mounting the ECU and fuse box for the accessories. In error I mounted the ecu too far back that it had interference with the brake pedal assembly. I believe I will cut a 1/8” plate...
So out of the 2 sets of V band headers I bought, none of them came with all of the advertised parts. On both sets the V band Flanges were missing, I was offered a credit of $50 for the missing parts, but was not offered the ability to get the proper flanges. Even after buying a set of V bands...
The analog style gauges Holley sells are a little pricy but they all daisy chain together and tap into the Holley harness. Should be pretty clean when it’s done. I didn’t see the point in trying to reuse any of that stuff, but it would be cool!
Really loving how this wiring is going. My plan is to have the dash look like a regular Humvee, with the ignition switch being used and analog style gauges. The ignition switch has 3 leads coming off it, battery power, accessories, and momentary for the starter. I plan on run the accessory lead...
curious to see what that looks like. I've thought about modifying mine so that instead of it being kinda square its more rectangle, so it would still be there for the 2 door fill plates, but also angled so that the front seats could recline....
