Figuring out how and where to mount the fuel filter/regulator was a little challenging. On the M998 that was here there were not any hard mounted trans lines on the frame rail so it was easy to mount one there, not the case with the m1123. Made this overkill mount and got it where I wanted it. Need to get matching bolts for the mount and hook up the feed line. Also need to remove the transmission bypass. Feels good to get this taken care of.

So close! I was secretly hoping to have this running before I got my title from GovPlanet. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. Got a few setbacks so I will most likely be next weekend before I hear it run. Battery mount should be here tomorrow so I can wrap that up. Also going to get a 12” flexible fuel filler hose so I can stop playing games with the 5” one. Need to take off the eBay swivel thermostat housing and replace with the Holley one, it’s leaking…At somepoint I need to replace the internal transmission harness since it’s leaking at the connector.

Glad I did this… aside from not really fitting properly the 5” rubber hose had actually begun to fall apart. Also, The body lift kinda puts the spout at a weird angle and it just made sense to get a longer hose and cut the filler neck down. The new 12” flexible hose has a steel spring lined core imbedded in the rubber hose. 2 clamps each end for good measure.

First ride was a success!! Sounds great, very smooth!

I removed the transmission bypass valve, mounted the 3.5 Holley screen, cleaned up the battery compartment a bit (still have more to do here), added a fuel pressure transducer, and got it titled and registered in SC. Could have had it running last week but had to wait on a starter. Rockauto is a great place for parts, just long shipping times.

Gotta few small things on the punch list left like gauges, exhaust and wiring for the lights done.

Trying to simplify the lighting, Power Distribution Solutions makes a really nice light kit that's universal. I've reach out them about creating a way to mount their switch in the dash. This would give a lot of people options, not just Humvee owners, would probably use it in my M715 as well.

Between the Holley ECU and the compact box for the light kit relays and fuses the Humvee is very streamlined compared to all the stuff in it originally.

Light switch is coming out perfect! Started working on some bumper modifications. For the money these airlift bumpers are quite the deal, scooped this one up for $100. I think the pintle hitches are cool, but swapping to a 2” receiver makes more sense, plus having a little rear step will be nice. I’ll fill the large hole in it and get a longer receiver that goes through the bumper.

Finished the bumper, came out OK. For a rookie I’m ok with it, but feel like I could do it better. I’m going to do it again when I get my truck back from the muffler shop. So I’ve got this bumper for sale if anyone is interested. I’m in Charleston SC.

Mounted the bumper and my new tag. Going to add another hitch/step/tube thing to my other bumper. Nothing wrong with this one, just think aesthetically I can make some better looking welds.

took it for its first drive around the neighborhood today, pretty cool!

Felt like the bumper could have been done better so since I had a spare laying around I gave it another go. A guy up the road from me has a much better machine and I think that made the difference. Proud to look at this one.

I am currently using a harness and light switch from Power Distribution Solutions. This will control all of my lighting needs, turn signals and horn.

I cross referenced all of the halogen bulbs on the truck for their 12v counterparts. I came up with 1156 and 631 bulbs, these fit both the front and the back lights. For headlights I sourced 12v lamps from an LMTV, this way Im able to plug right into the Humvee’s harness. I also wanted to utilize the factory plug on the front. I’m still waiting on 631 bulbs but so far everything is working out.

the front the wires I had are as follows. I’m pretty sure 19 and 20 are the blackout lights but wasn’t able to confirm but they will not be used.

18A (Low Bea)

17C (High Beam)

19A -?

491A (Parking Lights)

91A (Ground)

20C-?

460A (Right Turn)

461A (Left Turn)

Still need to tackle the rear lights….

lights are done! Still have some small odds and ends before its big road trip. I needed to get this out of the garage for a few weeks to take care of some other things so I put the raincoat back on it. Looks rad! Love that rear bumper.
