I think I misspoke when I was typing. I don't think I'd try 2.5T or 5T axles. I think I'd go with Chevy 1T, 8-bolt axles and run HMMWV wheels/tires on it. I don't recall if I mentioned the exhaust, but it would resemble the HMMWV setup. I'm also thinking of "militarizing" a 2001-2006 Tahoe. It...

That 'shopped example is exactly what I'd like it to look like. I've seen some diesel, 4x4, 2500 Suburbans for sale on some auction sites as of late. I think those would make great donors for a new guts truck.

I think this particular truck is up for sale. $13,500 obo. It does have the Isuzu diesel in it. I don't think it's for me. I'd rather do the work myself. It is a DARN good-looking specimen, though. Same markings as the pic posted, but no snorkel and some other things appear to be missing.

Radio would be screen w/o GPS, but would include reverse camera (perhaps using toggle switch).

I don't even have a donor yet, so... Haha

I'd also like to put in a late-model interior. Air conditioning, sound system, sound/climate insulation, better-performance exhaust system with added muffling (neighborhood-friendly), seat belts, maybe a King Ranch seat set (2 captains and console for front, possibly 2 captains chairs for the...

The Jeep JK is another inspiration. I think it would be cool to create and "ancestor" for the '08-and-newer Wrangler Unlimiteds. The JK is perfect for me, but expensive (the resale on some is as high as new, like that FJ Cruiser we had). Judging from photos only, I think if the rear door was...

That site was suggested to me by a guy I worked with in Kansas. One of the major reasons I've fallen for the military Dodges. Also, I'd want to upgrade the axles, wheels, tires and brakes.

Found some decent photochopping on google (link below) and decided I REALLY like the look. Appears the bed is unaltered, or hasn't had much removed. Also, a lightweight, lock-down slant back cover would be pretty cool, I think. :-D http://www.g741.org/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4571&start=15

    That is awesome!!!

I'd prefer a runner in poor cosmetic condition to a non-runner in a somewhat conveniently restorable cosmetic condition for the project. I'd go crew cab since I have two little ones that can't ride up front yet. Plus I have an extended cab now and I HATE that thing. Haha I hope you find those...

Not one of those is a Dodge.

I've searched the site as well as the World Wide Web and have found no evidence of anyone having grafted another cab onto one of these beasts. I think a longer wheelbase would be best, like the M43 or the M283. If I undertook such a project, I would like to keep the running gear original (but...
