I have thought about your suggestions and you're right. Thicker would be nicer. So i decided to glue (with a polymer adhesive) a second plate on the back. Much better :)- 59apache

Hallo Brian, sorry for the delay! The plates are laser cutted before the bead was formed. I don't have a laser, but with a .dxf .dwg file it is easy to order the plates. Greetings Juergen- 59apache

thanks @ all! It was fun to mill 2 steelplates for pressing the bead and get these results. It's only 19 gauge (1mm steel) but my 10ton press is to small...- 59apache

Yes, i plan to use backlit gauges, but not necessarily. I've got very good results with a 24V LED stripe just layed around the gauges and fixed with glue. The extra holes are for 12V voltmeter, EGT & boost.- 59apache
