The tank is plastic like the others and no I usually have no contamination problems but a local gas and go did and I got a large charge of rusty water and had to remove, drain and clean the tank and figured at that time I'd install this so if it it ever should...

Yeah, so would I if I was going to buy a complete filter set-up, spin-on is the way to go, but I had all this crap on hand and had the idea that it might function as a practical free replacement, which it now does. I also have this same kind of filter in my PE 95 K...

Yes ,you are correct, removing and changing this would be a pain if removal was necessary, however this filter doesn't need to be changed. The filter bowl does not have to be removed, unbolted or wrenched on, this filter has a bottom drain valve like a radiators...
