    A million questions to ask

Hey thanks Sierra117!, welder, and Porkysplace! i guess it was one of the more obvious choices I should have tried, but for some reason they slipped my list of co's. We'll give them a try in the morning and see what happens.

    A million questions to ask

well Sirs: It has been about two weeks I think since I last wrote here and I've got to say it's been hectic. I've been on the phone a lot these past few weeks trying to get the ground work laid out for a purchase of a 6by6 dump which will more than likely be my first endeavor. I've read here...

    A million questions to ask

My Dad is a former Navy Seabee and believe me he taught me a lot about reuse and etc. but there is a time and place for reuse. A few have mentioned safety concerns here and I think that will be my number one consideration in selecting civilian or military trucks for on road trans port of the...

    A million questions to ask

Yes for part I would say. leaning towards the five ton for site work only, and MAY go civil on the truck that has to haul the cat to the sites, something like a Pete or a Mack but I have not ruled out military trucks for that purpose totally. I'm still diggin up information at a frenzied pace.

    A million questions to ask

Just to shed new light on the situation regarding efficiency, I'm not bidding the jobs, I work by the hr. Each piece of equipment is billed according to hrs. used. Of course I know that these trucks are not all that great on fuel consumption, but would that make much of a difference say for...

    A million questions to ask

I sincerely hope that I have not misled anyone here, I had no intentions of trying to skirt around the laws, if the GVW of these vehicles is not enough to legally haul my load then I will simply have to find a truck to get the job done. to address the issue of bringing a truck up to date, by...

    A million questions to ask

Ya know the funny part about all this is the fact that I started in a business doing the Bull work, and to this day I'm doing nothing but the bull work, I'm not taking any prize jobs away from anyone. What I can' figure out is why they'd be jealous when they were all turning up...

    A million questions to ask

well to me it is coming down to this I guess....... get the dump for the site work and get the cdl to be legal in driving it to the site. after that I think it will boil down to a commercial truck or larger military Tractor (semi) and bring it up to specs in order to pass MDOT. Looks like...

    A million questions to ask

Hey guys, I have to say thanks so far for your input, please keep it coming as I'm all ears. One thing however stands out and that is that there is a lot of talk about commercial uses, and leases. I should mention (and I'm sorry I didn't earlier) that my land clearing business deals mostly...

    A million questions to ask

Could it be said also that they are good interim trucks? By that I mean lets face it these are tough times and to find a good commercial truck you would be looking at 40k or better and even as low as 40k you can still get some junk with high miles. Mostly I'm looking to expand services and...

    A million questions to ask

that's kind of what I was worried about...........just another something to take care of this winter. I suppose around on the job site I'd be fine.......

    A million questions to ask

I'm new to the forums here and considering a purchase of a few dumps for the business, but as the thread title says I've got a million questions. First off, I was considering purchasing a tandem axle five ton dump on GL, my needs are for a truck that is built strong enough for towing a tag...
