    You could install a quick release valve in the air supply line, when the line is pressurized, the valve opens and operates the fan, when the pressure is dumped from the supply line, the valve closes, sealing off the supply line and allows the EXHAUST of the trapped pressure.

    If anything is nose heavy it is the m819 and it uses the same 5t front springs as the rest of the 5ts, I believe that you are going to have a rough rid because of the fulcrum effect of the cab being in front of the wheels, any bump will be magnified by this so any dampening will help.

    Welding to the shaft could cause heat cracks or fiatigue if the shaft is heat treated, either of these conditions could cause a failure over time.
