    Another Aussie goat rescued

So I pulled the pump off again and sat it side by side with the pump from the old transfer case, identical in design and condition, when the plungers were operated by hand, both pumps worked well and developed good suction at the intake, no discernible differences at all. And yet, when I...

The bore looks ok and the original spring looked ok too so I used it. I think I'll install the pump from the old transfer, I put a much bigger and stronger spring in that one, it was working well but too late to save the bearings.

If I can find a pump that's suitable then I'd definitely consider it.

Grrr, this goat will be the death of me. Got in to take it for a drive and transfer pump has lost prime again, 2-3 mins in 4th gear and neutral intransfer didn't bring it back, what a terrible design it is.

    Another Aussie goat rescued

A productive day, I pulled the oil line from the old transfer and found it had a tapered aluminium fitting on the copper line, rather than the round brass one on the new case, I installed it on the new case and the fit was much better. On on a whim I decided to extend the transparent part of...

We do have Lucas and there is a bottle of it in the transfer case. I have pulled the pump off and it's fine internally but I noticed the suction line going to the bottom of the transfer is quite wobbly despite the nut being tight. I'm thinking possibly the olive on the copper has been poorly...

No wonder these transfer cases fail, maybe 20 miles on my brand new transfer case and the oil pump has stopped working already. I haven't pull it off yet to find the problem.

Deal. I'll trade you a drive of the goat for a drive of the deuce!

I've taken a few but none worth sharing. Strapping the GoPro to the goat hasn't worked very well, need to get someone to hold it and take some good video. I did freak out a lot of campers with it over the Easter weekend though, always fun.

Not a problem, I've got about a thousand photos of my goat 😋. They are only stick on vinyl letters anyway.

The number on the front of mine doesn't seem to correspond to anything that I can find. And the blue letters are just wrong, I think I'll see if I can remove them.

And while I think of it, does the number on the front actually mean anything or is it gibberish that a previous owner put on for effect?

Progress! I now have a goat certified and registered for road use, and insurance coverage on it. I celebrated with a decent drive and a play in some mud, it was the longest and therefore warmest drive to date, all went well apart from oil pressure being slightly low. I have no idea what oil is...

I appreciate the offer mate, probably not much point registering it though if I can't drive it afterwards. I have found a guy in Utah with lots of tyres, getting them from there to California for shipping is proving to be a problem however.

Yes, I have a centurion, not for long though hopefully as she is on the market, they are NOT a very practical toy.

I'll look forward to it mate, it's such a hoot to drive, I'm looking forward to getting some miles on it, especially offroad. Nice to have a deuce for company too, big enough to tow me home if it breaks! In the meantime, I can always come and play some time in another vehicle, power wagon...
