Does anyone have any source for wheel cylinders (rebuild kits or new ones) and wheel seals for these axles? I want to say they're the same as the M146 semitrailer and maybe a few other trailers as well. I want to say they're called "ordnance axles," but am unsure. The wheel seal is P/N 7975349.

My M870A1 restoration got in the way, but I am pretty close to finishing the dolly. I have a few more things to do on the dolly and then I can paint it.

Been a while since I updated this, but got a bunch done recently. All I really need to do now is prep the top door/covers and obtain a few pins and other small items.

Got some more done, this is turning out to be a slower restoration than I had planned.

Your guess is as good as mine. One of the bars is adjustable, I think this is to alter the axle alignment. I'm not really sure. I'd like to think $500-$1500 depending on condition.

Been a while since I updated, but have finished a few more things. Sandblasted safety chains and sandblasted and repaired crank handle. Painting chain is tedious work. Works now and looks great. Started on the body primer.

M35A2-AZ came over the other day and helped me (He did it, really) straighten out the U-bolts and bent sections of the frame. Heat fixes all. You can see a few more parts that I painted hanging to dry in the sun underneath the dolly.

Not going as fast as I thought it mine, but I got some more done. Newly painted reflectors. New gladhands and new air lines (almost 40' worth).

Made some progress today after the first post. Easily my favorite "how in the world did I do this before without this" tool is an impact driver. Most of the time, it will remove the most stubborn screws without even damaging anything. Its especially great on flat head and phillips head...

I have a M146 that it might see from time to time, but who knows. I have no specific plans for it.

    M197A1 Converter Dolly Refurbish

A while back, I picked up a M197A1 Converter Dolly. This thread will document my refurbish job on it. Its in serviceable condition except for the tires, which had large cracks in the tread surface. My plan is to do about what I did to my M332 Ammo Trailer...
