Got the radiator in and all hooked up today. Turned on the ignition pushed the starter button and it fired right up:jumpin: It run's very good:grin: I forgot to take my video camera to the shop, so I will get some video tomorrow. I still have a real bad air leak to fix. It's going to require...
Made some time and got back on Ol'Rusty. All I have left to do is mount the radiator and fire it up. The radiator set me back a bit it couldn't be rebuilt so they had to recore it.
Been thinking of doing this and I'm glad I did. Removed the bottom of the oil sump on the oil pan where the pick up is and I guess after 55 years this is what you might see, alot of muck/slim.
A few more pics. Getting closer to refiring Ol'Rusty. But my job is going to delay that. I fly out tomorrow to Germany, but I will be back next Thursday. I still have to have the radiator recored and a couple other small things.
Couple more pic's,
Went thru and adjusted the valves. there was only one intake valve that didnt need adjusting. Everything else was out, but not to bad. Also cleaned and installed the Gov. drive and Distributor. Also the Comp. mount.
Got some color on today. I went with the 24087 from Aervoe. I would like any feed back on how this paint hold's up as the color is just what I want on other vehicle's that I plan on restoring.
Got the parts primed today I even primed the engine as most of the paint was gone after cleaning it. I forgot to mention how happy Ol' Rusty was when I rolled it in the shop.:D Its probably been since the assembly line that it's been under a roof!!
Degreased and pressure washed the engine and got some parts sandblasted and ready for paint. I couldnt stand not cleaning and painting something on this truck.
No, just making it where I can run it without any priblems for right now, but yes one day this truck is very worthy of a complete restoration.
Its about to be a new year and my biggest new year resolution is to finish my M125!!!!!:jumpin:
Yes I've been lucky with what I have so far, except the second M125 I got from Kevin Emdee had a stuck engine, but it came with a brand new engine in the can. The parts for these LeRoi engines are no longer available. Well today i finished taking off the rest of the top of the engine to get down...
Just doing a little top end maintenance on Ol'Rusty. It had been running like a top, and I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to put some Lucas Fuel Treatment in the tank and it started running like crap. As I said in an earlier thread I never pulled the carburator off the engine so I...
