Typical cost to recover a deuce?

Hey another thing, what do you guys do about registration and insurance to get them home. You need both before they let you drive it off the lot right?

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

From my calculations from the information you guys have given me, it would cost about $6-700 dollars to get it home. That includes the spare parts you guys listed and fuel . That is if nothing catastrophic happens.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

I guess you gotta learn somehow. I imagine a deuce is pretty forgiving on early shifting due to its torque. I learned to drive a stick on a very old and finicky VW Jetta. Every stick after it has been a breeze. I drive a 5-speed almost everyday. The only time I regret it is when i'm stuck in...

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

If I get into this hobby by buying a truck, I wanna learn as much as I can. I love to tinker, my wife is getting mad at me for constantly messing with our daily drivers. At least with a deuce if it didn't run or sat in pieces for a few days I wouldn't need it.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

I really want to pick one up from a GL lot myself. To me recovering a deuce and getting it home is like a right of passage. How will I ever learn anything if i just pay someone else to do all the leg work.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

From Redstone to my house is about 650 miles so at a average of say 7mpg id burn about 100 gallons of Fuel, diesel is about 2.20 a gallon so about 220 dollars of diesel.

Whoops, well its the only truck in FL listed on GL so it shouldn't be hard to find.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

If I bought that one my Father-in-law would probably help me tow it home with his deuce. But I don't know enough about them to know whats missing or where to get replacement parts.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

The only deuce Ive found so far in Florida is missing the Head and maybe other parts. The body and cab look in EXCELLENT condition though.

Typical cost to recover a deuce?

How much do you guys usually spend to recover a deuce? I'm talking all the spare parts (batteries, belts, fluids, etc). I've come to the conclusion that the buying part is the easy part, and the hard part is getting them home. What kind of MPG could I expect?
