That was the original plan. Purpose of the thread was to find out if there is enough clearance between the inner and outer skins of the cab roof for a rivet nut.

The light is about 1.5" thick with a .25" flange around the center. Result is a .75" gap between the mounting flange on the surface you want to mount to. I was going to use bushings to fill this gap. Don't think pop rivits will work.

Just read that myself - thanks. Drilling a small hole and the probing for depth is a good idea.
Another option might be to attach an 'L' shaped bracket close to the ceiling using the bolts which connect the rear cover to the cab roof. Mount the light to the bracket.

Want to install an APC dome light in the M1009. Dome light hole spacing is too wide for it to fit directly to the deep section of the ceiling between the sheet metal cab roof and the fiberglass rear roof. Looks like I will install it more in the center of the cab ceiling.
