    That cylinder was cold, not firing right. All the others were about the same. Never really looked at it, just tossed it.

    If you have an injector problem, you will likely know it. I had one fail on a roadtrip and it sure was apparent. Few shots with the laser heat gun and I suspected where the problem was. 15 minutes, a few burnt fingers and one used injector later, I was in full boogie.

    2 things. With the key in the run position, remove and replace that pink wire on the IP. You should hear an audible click from the shut off solenoid. The 2 odd lines that are insulated are refrigerant lines for the A/C.

    Hoses near the tank are subject to cracks and sucking air. Metal line there is also an issues. I had to rig up suction off the aux pickup several years ago after suffering similar issues. Once I dropped the tank, found bad hoses in the area.

    Great news on the battery tenders. I am just entering the world of smart chargers and the NOCO Genius stuff. I own several but this one is on my radar. https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GEN2-Waterproof-Battery-Charger/dp/B003JSJS5I JW4x4 has had a G4 maintaining the 4 batteries in his 5 ton for...

    Wow JPG. Hang tough brother, we (I) will pray for a speedy recovery. Ray, the 350 is an option too. A nice TBI motor sounds appealing. Sadly, I have a 96 burb in S FL that has a Gen V 454 MFI and the 4L80E. That swap appeals to me but instead, I'm selling it in place and likely very cheap. Dang

    I share the frustration of the mountain grades now that I live in the GA mountains. More often than not, I threaten the 454 swap. I need to find the right balance here.

    Fear not, takes time for all the bugs to surface. Just got back 90 minutes ago from a 1500 mile trip to GA. Granted, I've had the truck 7 years working out the bugs along the way.

    Maserati = compensation.

    Interested in seeing the outcome/solution to this. As I understand, NOS throttle cables are made of unobtanium and replacements are not ideal.

    I'm beginning to wonder if you will be able to let it go when she is ready. Seems you have grown attached.

    Of course you did! It's attached to the one bolted in place. Trust me, you have both pieces there. I was stunned to find that with mine. I think we shop at the same store. My replacement switches look exactly the same. Nice to get rid of the slide switches. I still need to find an acceptable...

    I have Premier and I swear by it. Now that all I have are CUCVs, it just makes sense. I bought my DD in Miami 96 miles away. Since I hadnno one to drive it back I called AAA. The guy towed it without complaint. I did give him a nice tip though.

    I have AAA Premier and they have towed my M1008 with a steel topper before. No issues at all. Remains to be seen if they will touch my ambulance. The high lift is certainly a viable alternative and if your daughter will be deep in the bush, she should have one anyways! They are mega useful but...

    The cable hoist deal from a later truck would work fine. They can be had dirt cheap from the pick a part places. Get one from a late GM van that had 8 lug rims. You will need to add a crossmember for it. This is a great location for a spare but they need to come out every so often. They are...

    Er, I wouldn't sell the 700R4 short quite yet. At less than half the cost of a GV, they are appealing. There are dozens of CUCVs with them and no reported failures. 3.06 first gear is a blessing as well. Hotrodders are running over 500 hp through them as well. All the early glitches have been...

    Cigarette lighter wasn't original. It actually does have a courtesy light, under dash above hump.Another cool thing to look for is the 175A Anderson connector in front of the drivers side litter/seat. You really need to look for it or you will miss it. Mine haboth sides of the plug.

    Well, for what it's worth, after my first camping trip with 2 kids, I promptly removed said seat and stored it away. Always seemed to be in the way. I now keep a couple of pieces of 1x12 to span the area between the seats. Nice seat and step.

    Yes, some amperage was lost which isn't a factor for me. The advantage is that now both of my alts are readily available at any over the road truck parts house.

    I am the odd man out with this. I have the "plan B" mod 2.0. Both of my 24V alts were replaced with 12V Leece Nevilles alts. Since these are iso ground as built, each has it's own battery to charge. 3 years running, sans issues.
