FWIW, the gasser you got from Gimpy was one of mine out of the blue M59. Lots of blue parts in the bed of ole yeller! The engine in the truck could most likely be reworked to military standards. At least it can be heard running.
That sucker will start, I assure you! Post pics. Quite a rig that guy has. Price is good. If the battery is low, you can jump it with anything, it's 12V.
Crappy Cell pics. Tony, I know you are unloading it. There is a sheetmetal cover where the light switch once was. The top is a push pull switch. Pull out to turn on power and the bottom one is the push button for the starter. No BRAKES and it has no cooling system. Running it a few...
Well, the M1008 kinda put me over the alotted number of trucks in the yard. Rather that sleep in the trucks, I chose to give this one a new home. I can't imaging what kind of flak I would have gotten for putting a multi in her!
Congrats on your new purchase. I'll be transferring all of my junk out of the back and putting in all of the blue parts for you. It will be moving to Devilman96's place for the duration of it's stay in S Fla. The purchase of both M59s with transportation was a costly lesson for me but at least...
Box widths are all the same for the 3 of them. The outside dimensions of the M47 are smaller. BTW, it's amazing what you can find with one 80 grit sanding disc stuck to your hand!
Just parts needed. I'd love to keep the blue one but the bed is toast and the data plate is long gone. That kills it for me. I want to get that one running though. It has a very complete and unmolested looking gasser engine bay.
Maybe not too long eh Captain? Ole blue has just the hard parts I need for ole yeller. Pity that blue doesn't have a data plate. Guess it will live on keeping yeller alive. Larry, thanks for those pics, I'm really stoked to find those parts. Hey Look, a hard top! Anyone need it?
The old M59 has finally found a resting place in the back yard. Captain delivered it yesterday @ 0300. I didn't take any unloading pics as I was busy unloading a truck. Thanks Captain!
It's rolling! Captain has it loaded up on his gooseneck and trucking south. I don't think he has planned any sleep until he gets here so sometime late tomorrow? Don't know if any pics were taken but if I'm home when he gets here, I'll take some!
Waiting on Captain. He was to head up a few days back but I know he had some things to work out at his AO. I'd love to hook you up with the radiator out of the M59 but it sure looks like it's non original, like out of a camaro or something. Hopefully the one Matt has will suffice for you...
