Bought some gaseous gold (R134) in Commiefornia. A/c compressor functions. These rigs use a lot. I will fill more tomorrow. Rear cool, front hot. I’m guessing this is the heater valve phenomenon???

And as the sun sets on this trip visiting Eric and working on my M1165, I’m already planning my next trip. Engine is covered to keep the valley dry. Next trip a/c test and recharge, oil washout and change, glow plug testing, new shoes for all four corners, B-pillars, seats, cover the big round...

Kascar just got me my glowplugs. And a nice new keyfob which I’ll use for my H1 keys. Initially they were going to mail to the wrong address. I emailed them and they seamlessly redirected. Solid customer care. I sent them a E-mail thanking them. Decided I’ll install another time. More wind...

To quote a great friend of mine as a message and sign off appreciation to all you good citizens, “thank you for paying your taxes on time, to allow people like us to buy amazing machines like these”.

Went for a short adventure with Eric/Hummer H1 and his amazing fiancé Aubrey. Great power. Fun time. Ate some of Eric’s dust, but it’s all good. The 30% decline dirt road was fun. Some more work like glow plugs and seats and doors and sound deadening BUT adventures can begin and that crap can...

Horsepower and turbo whine are back. Attached the down pipe to turbo. Nothing else behind. Wired in place temporarily as support. Sound was not too loud. Turbo to down pipe still leaks exhaust a bit so it will need a gasket. Went on my first real trail with Eric in the lead. Ate some of his...

Catalytic converter is legally required. Muffler is not. Gonna use working catalytic converter. Gonna attach to custom stainless straight through pipe instead of muffler. Rubber on support bracket is aligned perpendicular to muffler. I will use old tire to make new rubber loop at 90 degrees to...

Well, pulled the exhaust system. Finally! Unconventional removal. Finally forced the bolts in the cat converter out. Dropped the cat. Then cut the rubber support for the muffler so support bracket removal became a non-issue. Horsepower has returned!!! Haven’t checked shifting. Gonna do glow...

No power. Black smoke. Rechecked timing and TPS and all correct. Spoke to Steve and worked with Hummer H1. Eric and I had disconnected the exhaust early on for other reasons. Yesterday I reconnected. Suddenly no power. Timing and throttle sensor were checked. Still issues. Texted with Steve...

Thanks for the support! No leaks on the air intake. I’ve replaced or refurbished all the air hose clamps. Just found another silly oil leak around the transmission cooler, but, I’m changing that entire assembly tomorrow hopefully. The 200 amp is definitely better than the 400 amp because it...

Well, seems like there may be a happy ending… Brought fluid down to appropriate. Shifts downhill but not uphill. Black smoke uphill. Downhill shifts all four gears. Uphill engine is gutless and exhaust turns black. When I placed the new IP I am guessing the timing is not right. I will retime...

Well, I am farked… Transmission just pumps out code 12 over and over. Because tranny came empty from GovPlanet I cannot inspect the old fluid for shards of metal or burned fluid… Nothing else… just 1-2….1-2….1-2….1-2….1-2…etc. My fluid level is high. I will drain some off and recheck shift...

Sometimes you gotta laugh. I forgot that the glow plug temp sending unit was removed from my rig by the military, and that I filled the hole with a plug. My post asking about disconnecting the glow plug unit was unecessary. I have my Genius Box with manual control. No temp sensor required. I...

Thanks NDT. What “pops out” to me are two things: The $$$ saved The fact that I’m almost certain that this is the oil cooler setup that SteelSoldiers himself sent back due to this damage. Makes his and my rigs brothers through organ donation. 😆

Well, snow in Littlerock, California, so decided to other things. Purchased all I need for Transmission check J2 A-E tomorrow. Read up on the transmission TM until the rain stopped. Went to local NAPA and had some plugs for the brandy new ECV oil cooler with bent lines I purchased for $500...

Guys, possibly the stupidest question ever... Where the transmission guide says "disconnect glow plug controller", do they mean at the engine side, the firewall side, or both (ie.: remove the PCB/EESS)? About to play with the tranny and jumper the J2 A-E

For 1200 clams, might get Webasto. It will warm engine, making glow plug replacement less urgent.

    # 8 glowplug sheared off at the level of the head. 🙄 Tranny shifts into first and second and then stuck in second. Won’t hit third. Gonna listen to Steve and leave the broken plug alone. Gonna do the transmission light thing. Hoping it’s simple like a bad solenoid.
