Okay, I'm leaving the homestead. Wish me luck, it's 7.5 hours until I hitch up with the rest of the Carolina contingent. Long, sleepy way to travel until I get convoy support. I think I'll take a Red Bull or two and haul ass outta here.
See ya'll there....
Don't worry about it, Dennis - last year I didn't use the pressure washer, I just let most of the dried mud fall off on I-64 in Kentucky and West Virginia. I'm sure the people behind me appreciated it.
Heck, there is still some dried mud on the deuce from last year!
If anyone is interested in helping out an unemployed SS, I have come up with a list of stuff that I didn't sell at Aberdeen, that I could bring in the truck. The list is too long to post, so I have attached it to this post. PM me if you need anything on the list. Only 4 days left before I...
Removing the top and side racks is a PITA but it can be done with one person. But I would highly recommend doing it if you plan on offroading your truck, especially the side racks. Having the racks go rattle-rattle-bang-bang the whole time your truck is offroad is very annoying. Not to...
Westy needs to learn how to spell - everyone on YouTube is gonna think were all a bunch of inbred junior high dropouts. THNAK you for making the video about HASPEN. :)
Really, though - awesome video! Except for the spellnig.
I swear, one day I'm gonna make leather jackets up for the Haspin Acres Mowercycle Gang.
Change of plans - the deuce and the M37 will be in attendance. 2007 - no MV with me. 2010 - two MVs. In a few years, I'll have a military museum towed behind a M123 tractor the way things are going.
I might be meeting up with a friend at Haspin who is returning from a family trip to Oklahoma City. He is interested in wheeling a little, but also expressed interest in putting his Geo in the rear end of the deuce for the ride back to Virginia. Those hills there will help in loading, not to...
One of these days, we need someone to show up with a tracked vehicle. I think something along the lines of a Weasel or a Half-Track would do. Just to be the first to do it. We can only wish....
One month to go!
Might be coming with my deuce and a secondary truck, I am close to purchasing a M715 Kaiser in my area. It's fire engine red now, but I will sand and paint it green prior to the trip.
Fourth time for me. First was no truck. Second was a jeep. Third was a deuce. The trucks keep getting bigger, I might have to borrow a 5-ton this year. :)
Who are the long haulers this year from the East Coast? I plan on going again, last year I convoyed with Ferro and Cabell. I think they are still going, but not sure.
Who along the I-81/I-64/I-70 corridor east of the Appalachians is going this year?
