    Biggest Badest SUV

I agree. Slant back isn't for me either. Addressing all of that, my plans were to do a whole sub frame that stiffens and reinforces the original cab to the middle cab, to the cargo area. Make it one whole body unit from the firewall to the tailgate. It will keep the entire "cab" structure...

    Biggest Badest SUV

Grafting an existing SUV body would be kinda neat, but are the dimensions right? For my idea, I want the whole thing to scream Deuce, not Deuce and Suburban. I'll have to do up a sketch of the rear section. Anybody have a picture of the back of the cab of a Deuce without the bed in place?

    Biggest Badest SUV

I read that thread a while back, but that isn't what I am shooting for. I would certainly have the interior more finished than that. I wasn't planning on using an M105 bed. The original plan was to fabricate everything from the "2nd cab" back. This way it would sit down maybe an inch from the...

    Biggest Badest SUV

Height in the back shouldn't be any more limited than any normal SUV. It will be longer and wider than a standard SUV, and I'm not sure about what height yet. I think more than anything the SAV-Thanks RangerBob!- would be for cruising the town, scaring the locals, and all around fun. Would...

Not a huge fan of the slant back look. I'm thinking if/when I do this build, it'll be longer wheel base like my original pic...

    How's this?

    Biggest Badest SUV

I'll play around with throwing a slant back on it. A slant back would be a pain to open and close though :-|

    Biggest Badest SUV

not sure if I like the short length... and parking spaces here in MT are usually pretty huge since 2/3rds of the population drive either a 3/4 ton quad cab long bed or a dually. Another idea to throw around... Maybe swap out the rear axle to rear steer??? Would certainly help with low speed...

    Biggest Badest SUV

It's the biggest and baddest SUV made out of a 50 year old truck with 50 year old technology  Plus the marauder isn't 4 door, and looks hard to climb in and out of. The marauder looks cool and all, just not what I would want.

    Biggest Badest SUV

That's cool and all but fact of the matter is it isn't a Deuce! I think the Deuce looks much better, at least on the front clip. Plus that marauder looks like a pain to climb in and out of...something I would not want to do with my bum knee.

    Biggest Badest SUV

Sad to say this, but if I ever build this thing, I probably won't take it off road, or if I do, it will be fields and the like. Nothing technical enough to get the frame to flex much at all. I think I'll also do some sub-framing to the whole body to stiffen it up.

    SAV! I love it!

    Biggest Badest SUV

I would probably reinforce the frame with plate steel and crossmembers. The custom interior was a given. I thought about the tandem super singles, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the single rear axle. Screw the soccer moms in their Escalades with their Starbucks, I want a...

    Biggest Badest SUV

I would have done it on a bobber length, but I just didn't have a half decent side shot of a bobber to start it with. I'll look around and find one to graft the rear section onto.

    Biggest Badest SUV

Crazy idea I had last night while bored out of my mind. Make an SUV out of a Deuce. I pieced this together using a picture of a double cab conversion and windows paint. I know it's rough, but it's so you guys can see what I'm thinking would be really cool. What do you guys think? I know, I...
