Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

I had to loosen a few revolutions on the piston rod end….. not sure how I should get those revolutions back. Thinking once cab is close to down, block it up, take pressure off, and then snug it again. Or put it all the way down, then tighten it again. Any thoughts? bracket fits, but the...

I looked at the bracket and when I get the new one, it looks easy enough to do. Hopefully it comes off easily. Here is the wrap around that was mentioned earlier.

Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

I can’t see mine since my new condenser is in the way. I was mentally envisioning an L shaped perch, but it sounds like from your comment it is a U shaped perch. Is there anything keeping the bolt heads from spinning or backing out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

I am thinking I need to block the frame up, but use a bottle jack for fine adjustments..... loosen the bolts and adjust final height until bolts move freely (load is off spring). Clamp bolt head so the bolts stay in the holes and strap spring to the other side just so it does not try to move...

Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

All, I just thought of something….. when I take the nuts off of the three bolts that hold the bracket on, what happens to the spring perch? Are there any attachment points besides those three bolts? I did not see any. My guess is I will need to prop up the truck frame so the weight is off the...

Well, my plan was to move the truck out to clean up and go onto my next project. Instead, I had to work around the big truck with little space on all sides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Resolved—- I just sheared off my cab lift piston mount!

I have a roof rack, headache rack, some other modifications, full interior with lots of sound deadening….. yes, a bit mor weight. The issue is the bracket bent and pried the shank off. I safetied the cab with a ratchet strap, and that alone could move the cab back….. but I need Chucky to try...

Anyone have a spare mount? I guess you have to have you skid plate on to pull your cab back down. My mount bent and snapped. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
