    Very good advice. There is another consideration as well. Absolutely no liquid can get into any cylinder. Look up "diesel engine hydraulic lock".

    Just replaced the drag link (aka connecting rod) on the M1008. An easy job if you have the right tools. I have found a pitman arm puller makes removing those tapers s snap. Now, off for a road test.

    Are you sure your IP is not on it's way out? Clogged return fittings are a typical indication that the pump internals are disintegrating.
