Ok i found the problem ...After putting a fuel pressure gauge on there and driving it till it messed up.. I noticed the fuel pressure was dropping below spec,Then i installed the inline pump still no change.. Fuel pressure was dropping to 10 psi when it would fall on it's face. When i first...
I think i may have finally figured out the problem..The motor i put in the truck had sat for a long time. When i first put it in the truck it was low on power so i turned the fuel up... It was fine for a while. Then it went crazy making way to much power and smoke. I put an egt and new boost...
i drove the truck again yesterday with my friend ... he agrees it sounds smoother like it must of had a plugged injector that freed itself up..I tested the governor and it is working .. I also looked at my old injection pump from my other motor looked like i went about 1 turn on that one but i...
So from what i'm getting i think i'm gonna check the fdc to make sure it's not sticking and aslo verify the gov is working right still although i belive it's probably gonna be the fdc ... i'm gonna do the cable set up on the fdc while i have it apart and put a egt and new boost gage on there to...
i had it on the other motor i'm gonna be switching it onto this one as soon as its nice out for a couple days...i like the avatar pic..[thumbzup]right now i have a whisler c turbo on the .i use the turbo gage and ussually keep it around 10-12psi.. Till i get my good turbo back on there i have...
The turbo on a deuce doesn't work like that... The way a deuce works is simple.. more fuel =more boost.THe turbo doesn't have a waste gate. So it can get out of control pretty quick if to much fuel is intoduced or if the engine is overreved.. It is designed to work at a certain rpm and egt...
i don't think it will scatter probably more like melt?but thats why i'm trying to get as many ideas before i dig into it .Maybe i should have done this as a poll to see what the majority of people think happened?
i have 15.5s on my truck. and i said it pulled hard to 70.. but felt like it would have kept going to 75-80 but i let out of it.. The gov should work but i wasn't staying into it to find out...The fact that i was accelorating like that going up a hill let me know something was wrong not to...
I probably went like two turns..I went a little drove it the went a little more till i started to get some black smoke at full throttle..I was planning on turning it down a little anyway as i adjusted it when it was cold out and didnt want to be off when it was hot with less dense air.I still...
no on the egt.. I was using the boost gage to give me an idea where i was with things ..Going by what other guys have been reported..I was keeping it under 13psi for the most part..
I didn't get to check anything it was raining pretty good when i pulled up at home.. I am thinking i must of had a plugged injector or maybe something plugged in the injector pump. I did add 30 gal of trans fluid to the fuel tank today.. Some of it was pretty fresh .. i wonder if the detergent...
no jokes here .. i wish it was .. If i thought the bottom end could handle it i would leave it alone .. But i doupt that would be the case and i don't feel like changing the motor again so soon
The change is what has me puzzeled.. I think if i would have stayed into it the gov would have broke and it would have keep on to 75 or more. It pulled off so hard when something changed it felt like someone kicked it from behind...
Maybe the radiation from japan has my truck warming up for...
I was driving home from work today and going up a little hill so i pushed the go pedal....And something changed... I'm guessing something with the injection pump...The truck took off like crazy pulling hard to 70mph up hill? The boost gage spun around past 40psi and actually broke the needle...
