Sorry tag is a little beat up, I installed it, pulled it out, installed it... you get the picture.

I followed the diagram to no avail. I tried 24v direct off batteries and signal via jumper cables. I tried swapping the signal leads still nothing, I tried a different sending unit and swapped leads nothing, so 2 bad sending units or bad tach ? Tach jumps when power turned on then sits on 0...

I'd like to know that answer too, I just installed a new sender and get nothing on my meter (spun sender with drill, nothing...then installed on eng, nothing, yes eng tach drive is turning) went thru all settings on the dial of my meter. So tried original sender and nothing, so back to step 1...
