Holy Crap - seems like this is taking forever for me.
Can only work on it about 2 to 3 hrs a day due to medications but we're back on a roll again.
I have not filled the brake system yet and most likely will be towards the end this step takes place so hang in there because DOC will finally have something with real brakes operable on it.

The side you see was all previously touched and wacked out of shape - getting it back into at lease somewhat of a flat condition - Doc will probably take a hammer to it because he dislikes anything that looks like is has been straightened.
I have a couple more days at least on this side before getting to the other side - one of the CAMO members dropped off his 2008 Harley Softail which is getting a new starter in it and also polished up when its done.

Make sure you get plenty of overspray on the windshield and all the light lenses or Doc won't be happy.
Overspray ****. Just paint the suckers. Doc will clean it off if he wants to go for a drive.

Still have lots to do - so this is just a status report.
Got the first coat of epoxy high build primer on it this morning - lots of sanding - re-spraying - sanding and then hopefully paint once ALL the remaining body work is completed. Also still more to do inside the engine compartment.

Amazing how a good paint (even primer) hides all the damage and repairs. Looks bran spanken new where you primered, minus the od color. Did a a perfect job sanding it. I'm a bit jealous you have a garage to work in as well :).

Thank you...its only the start and will look 100 percent better when done.
There are previous projects under various headers to give to an idea how this one will turn out.

Is that the idea behind "high build" primer; it's more than a few mils thick and so bridges a lot of rough spots in the surface; kind of a self-leveler?

The color is a variance due to shop lighting.
Epoxy in either regular or high build will seal off any paints below and stop induction of oxygen to stop rust.

High build as asked will fill in minor pits etc---but this had to all be block sanded then yet another coat sprayed and YES sanded once again before paint. If its not right in primer there is NWIH its gonna be good with paint on it.

WE both love it down here actually - feels just like a house we would have owned and a lot more to do.

Got the passenger side finished and in primer and reshot the jeep again in epoxy primer. Due to the dry time down here shooting goes a little faster pace.
Primer has a window to get paint on so I took it - This is the Ordinance 8 paint Doc wanted it in. Still a couple more coats to shoot tomorrow morning - then interior metal work and then onto the engine bay.

Let me state ONE thing about Doc's jeep. it is NOT intended to be pristine butt anal totally restored and show quality. CAMO likes to have folks climb in - touch and feel - pretend and imagine and hear the stories of what its original intent was for Military use and I try to abide by their wishes( I do although take some nasty stuff out) but leave enough to where it looks like its still in use.
I have no opinion on stuff that is way more perfect than the way it came out of the factory - its all just personal preference's is all.

Sure have. Its a medication thing going on...I have pics but cannot remember to post them...its a bitch.
Got the drivers side floor plate cut this morning and will finish it up in the morning...then onto the pass side.

Had a really rough couple 3 days so not much happened.
Then onto minor rust spots on the interior and finally into the engine bay.

Hard not to be discouraged from how I use to be able to function .... but we'll hang in there and get er finished.

See if I can remember to post up some pics tomorrow....leaving myself a note.
