Just wondering, but if the tongue of a 105 is rewelded to be flat on the bottom could the brake actuator be flipped to the bottom side to drop the ring? I didnt do much looking over the trailer, but noticed that it was two bolts that held the whole ring/brake assembly on the tongue. Just thinking about it.

Ok, so I assume it hasn't been done. I simply wonder short of swapping the axle out how to lower the trailer and keep the surge brakes. Any help out there?

I too was thinking about doing that, but would make the master cylinder upside down on my M116a2. I do have some 3/4" steel stock that I thought about using as a weld on spacer between the hook/donut bar and the actuator.

The what? If you are talking about the ring that goes on the pintle, it isn't just a flat piece of steel, it connects to the inner workings of the surge brakes.

Yes. will be taking the brake actuator and pintle ring apart for cleaning and repaint soon. I will know better after disassembly. thanks.

Seems easy enough, but I don't have any nor have I seen any for sale. I don't think buying one of the trailers for the wheels and tires will work either. Just stuck for the time being in that sense. If you know anyone with some for sale feel free to let me know, I would be interested.
