Cambo,
Even with axle problems, she still looks to be in stellar condition! Just maintain her and she'll last your lifetime and that of your great grandchildren too!

Thanks mate! But unfortunately the body and chassis have been beaten around a fair bit - full of bog before I got it.
I wish it was an exle....

Seeing the colour of that Diff oil I can't help but to feel a little bit responsible

Holy crap Cambo! So, how did you get it home? The oil was a bit milky wasn't it? I always hate to see that when I open the diff cover. That's what the oil in my deuce tranny looked like after it sat in some guys field for a year with no top on it. I knew I had a problem when I was driving it home an steam started pouring out around the shifter boot

I simply took the diff centre out, put the exles back in, put the diff cover back on and drove er home on the front exle. was a bit of a challange - but all in good fun!

too much power for the poor little willys, CJ5 is my next project...

Cambo,
Most impressive, both on the diff and getting the lady home! There are quite a few people here that would just about DIE for an opportunity to rebuild her.

Yeah - she's a great bus! original Willys (not ford built), it has the original back pockets in the wheel archers.
It has amazing power/weight ratio - similar to a V8 CJ5 and those little bar tread allow her sneak around nearly anything.
You might have noticed also that I have put the higher windscreen on (from a '44).
I also have the axe and shovell for th side.
cheers fellas!

Hey, if you look even closer she's a rightie! An even rarer Jeep yet! Now that's worthy of restoration to NOS!

Yeah - Im in Australia. We drive on the left.
Was of course originaly LHD though. Has been converted over here. if I was going to restore it, I need to go up a step (in regards to strength) in running gear, or down a step (in terms of HP) in engine.
cheers
