Hi All. I'm posting this for a friend. He just picked up a 1976 Canadian CUCV and is looking for more info on the truck. It seems to be quite different than the later US versions. He says it has a gasoline Chevy 350 motor and 350 transmission and is full time four wheel drive. Any ideas where I can get more info on this truck? Manuals? Thanks for all your help in advance. I have no photos at this time.

They have been discussed here before. Nickname is the “five quarter” so maybe that will pop in search results.

oboy your friend is in for a treat. 0-60mph in 6 seconds.....when dropped from a plane, climbs hills in 4 high.....being pulled by a helicopter, tows three times its own weight on a trailer with 2 1/2 tons in the back.........that's what a friend told me.

The manuals have evaded the collectors but I'll sniff around and see what I can find. I've heard a ton of favorable stories about the truck so let's hope the rust didn't get that one. The camshafts had a few bad years in the 350 so it'll be interesting to see what history your friend is holding......and he is holding history.

Thanks to the boys at cmv we can thank 2 DM's and a DN for the pics.

The manual links on this thread still look good so I can stop looking. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/canadian-pre-cucv-chevy.51709/page-2
