OK, that does it. If additional requests come in, I'll complete them when I have time. Otherwise, I will be working my butt off until mid-September.

Happy Trails to you.....

BTW: If you know that you'll be "working my butt off", you might prepare in advance for your pants no longer fitting properly. Most garments will be able to be altered, but your skin-tight double-knit leisure suit will probably need MAJOR MODIFICATION.... Is that why they make those "A$$-less Leather Chaps" that Wreckerman and PapaBear are always drooling over???

A.) VIN: 04A87031

C.) NSN: 2320000771616
D.) GL Possibly somewhere in Indiana (From what I was told, bought from third owner-no title. Bought near Hamilton Oh.)

04AXXX is the registration #, but I can't find a match. What is stamped on the frame?

Where on the frame do I need to look? I'll run out and find it. Sorry for the SNAFU.
Drivers side, under the front fender behind the front wheel. The actual VIN is stamped there, but likely under a lot of paint so you might have to do some scraping.

Okay, I found 0525 17738. I noticed that same # was also on the ID tag under the contract # block, but I just assumed it was the number that a block of trucks were ordered under.

This shows it was a USAR truck, turned it at Ft McCoy. Before or above the ENG on the bumper should be a number that will tell you what Engineer battalion it belonged to.

That's interesting- think it could be both, being "swapped" from one unit to another? The interesting part is the mileage on the truck was about 7K on the speedo, and it seems to have about that much wear on everything.

With the USAGE MILES being IDENTICAL at 19905, I'm guessing that it's only DISGUISED as an M35A3 and is really still an M44 under-cover for the MP's where it's actually assigned. You got a "secret agent" truck there ! ! !

Is it wearing Groucho Glasses and a Mustache????

Hi CARNAC: Not sure if you or others can help with this:

The option code sticker vin (in the glovebox) doesn't match the vin plates riveted to the truck. No surprise - someone likely switched the glove box. But I would like to find out the history (and also the actual option codes for a M1031) of my truck...

Hey CARNAC:

Here is the info on my 1970 M35A2 WO/W:

a. 052517122
b. 04N14470
c. 2320000771616
d. Private sale in IA. Believe it to be a former IA NG truck.
e. UNK

The IA title lists the VIN as the registration number. I am not sure how much of a problem this is going to be when I go to register it in CO next week. I am hoping that when I get the VIN verified and explain to the DMV staff that they can correst this without too much hassle. Any insight as to an approach to rectify the incorrectly listed VIN on the title would be appreciated.

Thanks
