Hey CARNAC:

Here is the info on my 1970 M35A2 WO/W:

a. 052517122
b. 04N14470
c. 2320000771616
d. Private sale in IA. Believe it to be a former IA NG truck.
e. UNK

The IA title lists the VIN as the registration number. I am not sure how much of a problem this is going to be when I go to register it in CO next week. I am hoping that when I get the VIN verified and explain to the DMV staff that they can correst this without too much hassle. Any insight as to an approach to rectify the incorrectly listed VIN on the title would be appreciated.

Thanks

a. Serial Number 1GBHD34J9GF434635
b. Registration Number NG1M10
c. NSN without dashes 2320011335368
d. Where you bought it MT, was told it was a Gulf-1 vet that came from FL by way of a MT state agency
e. Bumper numbers if you can legibly read them FLNG269E

Came in badly applied desert tan CARC with a standard box/troop seats and the PTO removed / single helper spring but no M1028A1 conversion plate.

Ok, using the reg # I found a listing that I ahd also found with the last of the SN- but the I tossed it away due to teh year listed. Looks like a typo on the year...

Info Sep 04. Prior to this the truck was with A Battery, 1st Battalion, 200th Air Defense Artillery in Hobbs, NM.
Ah, cool, that makes sense. There is a sticker on the dash about how to read the air traffic control tower lighting. Also good to know it's from NM. The sheet metal is pretty clean.

Can anyone tell me where to find the vin# on a 1980 m916. The data plate is missing and I can not find the number anywhere else on the truck? I am trying to file my sf97.

Not exactly positive on that particular truck, but on my M813 it is very lightly stamped right on the side of the frame on the drivers side just to the right (when looking at it from the drivers side) of the steering gear box right about in the center of the frame. I had to sandblast the paint off in order to see mine because it was so lightly stamped in the frame.

Often the registration # will be stenciled somewhere inside. See if it is, and we can go from there.
