I was mistaken, the numbers NKOZPN 72053915897 are not on the truck, the previous owner must have have mistaken them for another truck he used to own. When I finally got the truck the only numbers are on the data are 4L208033116170. The number 116170 is on the frame. Thanks for the info and I will be making a donation to The Independence Fund. Thanks again.

New here, I have a 1984 M1009 just like to know some info about it.
Bought it from a guy where it sat in a yard for two years, and before that it was used as a landscape truck. So I have little to no info on the truck. It's painted green but on the military markings you can see it was tan so I can only think it was a tan desert storm truck maybe?

The data plate on the dash board was removed at some point before I took ownership. I got the V.I.N. from the frame and it matches the V.I.N. the government put on the paperwork. The registration number was traced out under layers of paint on the hood; see photo. There was not any numbers visible on the inside of the driver's door.

D). Where I bought it?: GSAauctions.gov It was owned by the U.S. Forest Service, who loaned it to the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources. I was told it was not going to be "reassigned" due to the fact it was a manual transmission and it was put up for auction.
E.) Bumper numbers: None. Painted over too many times.

Data plate missing is not a good sign. There is still the vin on the dash. The inside drivers door is a registration number nf05a0. Problem is, that's paint and/or it's easy to swap a door. Get the vin from the dash data plate on the very front left (drivers side) corner where the windshield and dash meet. Might need to rub some chalk in there to read it or take the dash off and do a pencil on paper rubbing to get it.

As for the bumper numbers, 89 CR is the 89th Reserve Command which was headquartered in Wichita, KS and covered Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Mo. The FLD HOSP is for a Field Hospital (which all are gone away). I suspect this is probably from the 325th Field Hospital which was converted to a Combat Support Hospital (CSH). FH4 is the S4 (Logistics Officers) vehicle for the hospital.

The tan on the bumpers would not be a good indication that this vehicle went to the desert.
