The long number is on the drivers side rear of the block. Below the oil pressure sender and on top of the area where the transmission bolts in. I don't want to call it a bell housing, because it isn't but that little shelf is where the number is. Basically, find the oil psi sender and look under and inboard of where it screws into the block.

There is also a GM 6.2L stamped on the front passenger side of the block. The deck extended and outboard of the water pump.
