6.2 vs 6.5 mufflers/catalytic converter

Can anyone confirm if one needs to change the old 6.2 muffler over to the cat/mini muffler on a 6.5 set up due to the 6.2 muffler hitting the transfer case due to it being pushed further back? This 6.5 is an NA truck and not a turbo.

I've never had too....I've even used the old style exhaust on a turbo.

Ok I wasn't sure if the way the exhaust goes over the tcase would hit or if it has enough clearance.
