Hello

I have a 1989 M998 and breaks are starting to make noise. Does anyone know the part number for it and where would be the best place to pick them up? Appreciate any feedback

Thanks

Are you aware that all the part numbers are available in the parts TMs? The manuals are available for free on the link at the top of the page.

Also there is a Sticky in the HMMWV forum that members are posting part number in.

Yes, I clicked on the Sticky but didn't find what I was looking for. Maybe I didn't do a good enough job. Would you mind linking me to the manual mattching an 89?

Thanks

Looking at the TM 9-2320-280-24P-1 parts manual, figure 158, item #11 there are three numbers listed

106397-04
106397-03 and
12835400

Which to use? Along with each of the numbers there is a 3 digit UOC (Usable on Code). This number specifies what type of vehicle. To find out the UOC for your vehicel you have to read the fist few pages on the parts TM.

The UOC for a M998 is H13.

So the correct Part number for a M998 is 106397-03. That doesn't look like a regular part number so lets see what other part numbers are used.

www.wbparts.com is a website I use all the time to look for parts. Plugging in 106397-03 it shows these other part numbers

106397 5 9 D
106397-01 5 1 C N
106397-03 5 2 3
12342340 5 2 1
42-0870-000FORMULA720R 5 9 5
5584858 5 9 5
CFC8398-1 2 3
GVMD651 5 2 5
MD-651 7531 5 2 5

A quick google search and a bunch are listed on fleabay.

Okay, I need to read the manual because I still can tell which part number I need. You've clearly pointed me to right direction.

Sorry,

106397-03

Or any of the numbers listed.

Search for 106397-03 on fleabay and you will find your parts.

Now to cross it to a NAPA number is another story.
