A few weeks ago a member jumped on the forums from the Salt Lake City area with three M1009s to sell. One went to Denver. I have a friend in that area and gave him a call. He recruited a friend who has rebuilt his Blazer several times since buying it new in 1985.
They went out and previewed the three trucks. The highest odometer reading appeared to be in the best overall condition. I managed to get that one bought.
They picked it up for me, good title, temp tag, and are going to store. It until the end of the month when one of my brother's trucks coming back from Portland empty can give it a free ride home.
The reports are that it drives super, starts easy, runs right up to 70 and has better power than any of the CUCVs he drove in the military had. Rust free with minor dents and good rubber.
My son should be happy!
