Air filter canister

A reminder that the deuce air intake filter canister does not have a drain, so after possible exposure to heavy rain, melting snow and splashing water from fording, check for water. In particular, if you don't have the right angle fitting for the mushroom.

Does the large shiney metal thing in the bottom of the cannister serve any purpose?

Large shiny thing in the bottom....

uh-hu... to collect water in a unfinished metal area between the shiny thing and filter housing bottom which in turn rusts out and makes ya buy a new one!!!

Other wise it's a contact wear area for the bottom of the filter.
