Air in return lines.

I am having hard starting issues after a day of the truck running like a champ. I hooked a clear line up to my return off my IP and the fuel coming from the IP appears to be clear of all air bubbles. However air comes from the return lines and forms a bubble at the the top of hose. After the truck sits for 5 minutes a considerable bubble has formed in the hose. Is it ok to have air in the return lines?

Thanks,

Nick

New electric pump mounted near tank, all rubber lines recently replaced, my filter base looks suspect and a new one is on order. I take that recommendation to mean air in the return line is indicative of air in the supply line also? Thank you for the quick reply. I'm perusing the TM's now.
