Alternator Specs

Just passing along some helpful information. I have the standard 100 amp CE Niehoff Alternator N1511. I am tracking down a malfunction in the Charging system. Looks like the OEM 100 Amp alternators were N1500 Series. The 200 Amp upgrade kit replaces the N1500 Series with an N1200 Series, more specifically the N1216 model Alternator. Anyway, I tried to put on an N1228, but the offset is different, and the shaft is a different size from the N1511.

When upgrading the alternator you should also upgrade the battery protection boxes as well.
