We just won a 5 ton at Ft. Riley, but are up in Albany NY and we can't find out anything about the unit other than what was on GL. If you are willing to check it out and let us know how much trouble we are in it would be appreciated! We are hoping to drive it back, but may end up needing storage and/or transport if we can't get it running.... ANY help would be great!! Thanks, Glenn

I went over and looked at the string of five tons a while back. I would not mond going back over. Jet me a PM with the number and I will try to snag some photos for you. I may have some already. They are not much for letting people mess with trucks there. They threatened to have the MPs arrest me if I tried to start one. Glen

:-D:roll::idea:
It is an M813A1, event 4824, lot 7705; looks good but the description says nothing about how/if it runs. This may prove painful!

91W350, Why wouldnt they let you try to start any of them? Next time you go in just sign in and tell them you want to go look at some trucks, tell them you know where they are and just go back there. Ive never seen anyone get escorted there. Now some of the trucks are drmo's and not GL's and I have been questioned by them but never told I couldnt start any.

Glenn, If you need to store it I have lots of room. Im 30 min east of Ft Riley

ok report inbound. Walked all over the lot today looking for your truck.. seams there a tad out of order lol.. anyhow that's one really nice looking truck.
New PB cable and reflectors, 80% XL tires with good XL spare, axles have new vents.. like new new so I bet they were all rebuilt, Tranie is primer Red so I bet that is new too. New air valves on the trans also. broken driver door glass and the door handle only works form the inside. seats in good shape.. pass anger in fair shape. Did NOT start due to low batts. It does have the soler charges on it so I thinking a bad batt but I think it would jump start. Rear driver bed smashed and skuffed by a fork lift pushing it to its parking place but not that bad. NO rust. There is some B I I in the box on the passenger side like a air hose, jack, and some other little tools. Engine is NOT new/rebuilt but looks to be in good shape. no leaks or windows in the block. Looks to be a great truck.

PS this has been pasted so many times its starting to brake up words lol

So it sounds like Glenn (and of course his trusty sidekick Gary) will be having an adventure driving it home!

Glenn - take plenty of pictures and keep us undated on the retrieval road trip. Better get going soon especially since it doesn't have a heater and old man winter is just around the corner!

When I made my first trip over there to look at deuces, that was the only warning I got. I was free to climb around, look it over, measure, take photos, but not to try to start them. I was told I would be arrested. I had it repeated twice, not recently though. I did not see that particular guy on the last three trips in, I will ask next time over. Glen

Jeff - Thanks! We may need to take you up on the offer of storage. I haven't tried anything this crazy/foolish in years.
Any and all thoughts are welcome. My cell is 518-810-1930

Thanks! This should be interesting. Sounds like we need a drivers door handle and some glass, and maybe a battery or two? Got any spare parts laying around?
Sincere thanks on the offer. I may be in touch.
Glenn
