Anyone notice the power steering filter replacements lacks a piece/holding fixture ( that black plastic thing on the end of the filter)? Think that black plastic piece is important?

I guess I haven’t seen the original filter on my power steering pump. What’s your original filter look like.
because the photo you sent…the black portion is meant to fi directly onto a hose. Basis hose barb. So curious if you got the proper replacement filter.

It looks like a hose barb, but it appears to be a fixture to hold the filter in the center of the spring loaded clamp. I thought the same thing initially, but it does not have a hole at the center to flow in to the inside of the filter. I used the Wix cross number in the list on this forum. The picture is of the original filter. The Wix version has no black plastic fixture.
