Army signal WW2 generator P 236a. With Briggs bP

I purchased the above generator 750 watt output. When was this model used? Ww2 or Korean era? Anyone have a manual? Not getting a spark and will have to check points. Correction pe-236a. The Briggs says BP type 300517. Ser 84509. I thought I could date it by the engine but the Briggs site I looked at did not go that far back. Thanks

Used in WWII and Korea. Originally made during WWII. Civilian engine is Briggs Model A. Parts for this engine show up on Ebay. I have had good luck using condensers from Tecumseh engines in these. It is a PE 236a, you left off the E.

Decoded the Briggs and it was made in 1943 and the model is a Briggs B with the P meaning a 1950 RPM for the generator.
