avatar shows up on external search engine

Now thats interesting : I posted on our site here, did not get much response so went to a popular search site. I typed what I was looking for into the search line and notice that my SS avatar appeared in the "images" associated with that subject. I guess maybe I'm getting paranoid about how invasive the net has become......

What happens on the internet, never stays on the internet.

It's just google indexing every piece of data in the world.

How is that invasive? You made a post. Your username & avatar are associated with that post. That's exactly how a search engine should work.

It stripped the avatar out of the post and put it in a photo album. I'm not upset about it, just surprised that the algorithm exists to do that.

Are you talking about the image search on that most popular search engine? If so, it's not a photo album. It's just showing a cached copy of the image and linking it to the relevant page here. Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. all do the same. It's actually pretty cool how the algorithms work to relate all the data.
