Are we still planning on going out for supper Friday night? We have another couple coming up from Kansas - same motel as you. There is also a gentleman coming over from Nebraska on Friday night. I am not sure which motel he is in, but we did do supper last year. I hope all of us can eat together.Looking forward to the show, weekend after next! Sounds like it may be a fun time.
I will be there as early as 6:30. You won't have to be here that early. What time should we show up? Still planning my route.
The cannon barrel is solid "1045" steel. It was lined with solid rust on Saturday (and that was before I shot it). It took three ignition cartridges before it would dry out enough to fire. Of course, I had already loaded it just prior to firing so it was imperative that I got it to shoot - too much public around to fool around with a loaded cannon that would not fire. I was able to return it to that nice shiny/polished surface I know and love yesterday morning. It is back home inside the Armory now - patiently waiting for Memorial Day - and then I get to clean it again. The pics are great, thank you.
Wondering about your half-scale cannon, is that a brass liner inside the tube?
And that anti-tank gun is unusual, is it a 50mm piece?
