Battery / Electrical issues left me stranded

I recently replaced my ignition and dimmer switch. I fixed 2 problems, but another problem came up concerning the charging system.

This is what left me stranded a weak battery. I am glad I got AAA. Advice I got here on SS.

I noticed the voltmeter was dipping slightly in the yellow. I thought it was bad connection from when I took the dash out to be painted. I was wrong.

The batteries are a few months old. The front battery may be the problem? Using a simple battery tester I get a poor reading when a load is placed on it. Back battery test fine during a load. Both batteries give a solid 12.4V without a load.

Since it's a Costco Battery, I will have Costco verify. Got 3 year replacement. I haven't tested alternators yet.

I also thought it would be a good time to clean up the battery wiring as per the newest sticky. Thanks Antenna Climber for your great post, and Warthog for posting it as a sticky!

Since we all love pictures, below is a photo of what I found connected to my power bus. The pictures are before and after I pulled electrical tape off.

The power bus is 24V right? I didn't trace wire yet, but guessing what every it connects too it can't be good with that crappy wiring.
