Bracket behind exhaust??

Hey everyone,
I'm sure this has been covered on here, and I'm sure it's in a TM, but I've searched for the last hour and can't find anything.
What is the bracket for that is behind the exhaust stack on the deuce?
I'm assuming it has to do with a fording kit, but I really have no idea.

Look at the M36 in post #11. The ring is an early M49 but the M66 uses the same way of attachment. You'll get the idea.

Ah yes! Thank you guys! I figured it had been covered on here several times before, my SS searching skills still need practice.

I cut it off the truck. Didn't need it.

I you just unbolt it, and remove it from the truck, it leaves a big gap between the door and the cab. I think it was like a 1/2" gap. I took it off, and then trimed it down, then bolted it back in place to fill the space.

Mine is holding up my hidden antenna for my stereo now. I just wondered the whole time I was installing it, what it was originally for.
