On page 4-39 of the TM, it shows a jack being stored there. Mine didn't have a jack either.

I thought of that, but my jack wouldn't fit on there. Maybe it's a different jack than the ones that usually come on them?

Just read the TM(thanks for the page number), it's called the jack spacer, it goes on top of the scissor jack and the cupped part is for the lower shock eye to nest in when jacking the trailer. The jack itself doesn't actually mount to it when on the trailer.

Thanks for clearing it up, that boxy piece MD has fingered sits on top of the mil issue scissor jack 
that used to come with all kinds of MV's and is still part of the #1 common tool set.

your supposed to use the Prime Movers jack (HMMWV) and the adapter to change the tire on the trailer.
