Either, just do not mix. I had to redo my brakes due to the PO mixing. Mine is Dot 5 Silicone. Costs more but has a higher boiling point and does not absorb water. You will have to determine which is in yours. Smell and consistancy are a good indicator as each is distinct.

The lid on the master cylinder says DOT 5 only.

There should be a sticker under the hood or in the vehicle too.
