I am replacing the brake lines on my m35a2. however I lost the fittings that go on the master cylinder and air pack to accept the flared brake line fittings. I think the NSN is 4730-00-278-8873 or 4730-00-591-5134 based on the TM for parts, but I dont know what the specifications ware for it to give a auto parts supplier. does anyone know what these fittings would be called outside of the NSN?

-Our trucks use SAE 45 degree double flares (usually called Inverted Flares).
You want the tubing flare fittings that go on the tube before flaring the ends.
How the heck did you loose them, curious.
The flare fittings I know about, and have. it is the adapters that thread into the master cylinder and air pack I dont know specs on.

I think I accidentally threw out the tube I had been carrying around in my car to get fittings. I had the brake lines made from cunifer with new fittings, but when I went to install them today I couldn't find the old line with the adapters.

My way to find things goes like this.
Go to TM 9-2320-361-34P for the nice picture. Go to section ll and see fiqure 91. See part 8 and 9.
Go to the next page (91-1) to see part nine is part number 10937981 adapter, straight, tube.
You can google the P/N and get the NSN for it and search that way and buy from online or goto NAPA with your tube end and get the "step-up" adapter there, probably Dorman. They will not have part 8 which is a mandatory replacement part. I have that.
Go to TM 9-2320-361-24-2 work package 0470 00 for your mandatory replacement parts list which has part numbers and NSN all there.
It is OK ............................
Doing this is easier than doing any real work.
Also see TM 9-2320-361-24P fiqure 80 in work package (WP) wp oo81 00 and see the page after the picture which lists the part with the NSN of 4730-00-591-5134.
When I google that nsn I get right to http://www.nsn-now.com/Indexing/ViewDetail.aspx?QString=4730005915134 which gives the exact description of the part, adapter, straight, tube to boss.

thanks for the help, I have ordered a set of fittings plus the gaskets that were not present on the truck.

I think I will look over more of the brake service manuals to be better able to notice more things like the gaskets that were left off during maintenance by prior owners.
