Ok, so stupid me. I was installing my rear wiring harness and managed to break the hard brake line from the master cylinder to the back of the truck. I know it is a project but I am getting frustrated. Every time I fix one thing something else breaks. I have had the truck since October and have only been able to drive it maybe 4 times so far before something else breaks. That being said, does anyone know where I can get a new line? I know a brake shop can make one but since I have time because of work I figured I might try to order it.

No one offers them pre-bent, so what you'll need to do is head down to your local NAPA and buy a line of sufficient length and correct diameter. You'll have to bend the line and flare one end.

Maybe-maybe someone like Memphis or White Owl has some surplus line that's already pre-bent but I doubt it. Look up the part # and NSN for the line itself in your -P manual and google it-see what you get. Might get lucky and get an eBay hit or something.

Yeah, I figured nobody would have prebent line. just curious, do you think steel braided flex hose would work for that to make it easier to install? I could probably get a few sections of flex line made so if one ruptures I can replace smaller sections if one ruptures or breaks in the future.

Ok, so I tried to fix my brake line with a compression fitting last night and could not get one to fit. What is the diameter of the hard line on the rear of the truck? I tried a 5/16 and a 3/8 compression fitting and neither of them would fit on the line.

You do not use compression fittings on brake lines.

If you look at the parts TM, you can figure out what size line you use to replace it with.

It is standard american sized.
