Nice work! I'd be interested in understanding the cost of this transplant. Making me think twice about a 6.2/6.5 replacement if my engines quit.

Looks like you will be turning about 2300 RPM in fifth gear at 65 MPH with the 4500, assuming 32's.

Still waiting for the dash speakers, antenna and another amp to show up. Still have to sell the old engine ect. to order a few more things. I'm hoping to get started before the 1st but you know how that can go.

After a lot of ordering and waiting this project is finally getting some place. The long term goal is to have a truck I can do anything with. Use it for work or just take a road less traveled.

I started to take out the old heater to install a vintage air ac unit. I figured why redo 90% when I can just do it all. So I striped the inside wires and all so I can start from scratch.

I slapped together a mock up in google sketchup for the gauge light and switch layout.

Once I had an idea how I wanted it to look I started to modify the original dash bezel. With as much as I would have had to cut away and as old as the plastic is I didn't want to run into issues with the fiberglass coming apart. So I ordered a ABS blank and went from there. I grafted the hideous looking vintage air vents into the bezel, cut out all the holes, textured, and finally painted it all. In the long run it wasn't cheap for the blank but it saved a ton of time.

When I was happy with the fit on the dash I finished taking everything out and made a new cover for the trans hump. From there is was time to prep for paint. I removed the doors so I could spray the jams. Not to mention the door pin bushing were done. I ended up shooting it with the Raptor Liner you can tint. I still need to touch up the passenger side but am waiting till I have the doors are ready to shot. Paint and the liner kit are not free so I'm trying to shot every ounce I can out of each pot.

I wish I could post more then 10 pics. It would make updating faster.
