Cab stretching…. Anyone?

I’d like to explore the possibilities of adding another 16” to the cab. The cut would be behind the rear windows I think. I suppose it would be possible to stretch the windows, but adding 16” there would be a lot of window. The reason is I’d like to add a real set of second row seats. I searched around and found no threads on it. Anyone have a spare cab in New England? Just kicking the idea around a bit. I need a project like this like a hole in the head…..

Dang…. Yeah I hadn’t considered just adding a box to the back of the cab. Probably the smarter way to get the job done. Nice looking rig! Just a whole lot more going on there than I’m looking to do! Care to elaborate on the gearshift in the center and other control? Diff lock? Do you have a picture of it done with the extension, cab down?

That is all I have. This is a European company and those are Styr trucks. I don’t remember the name of the company but Ivghink they had a bull in the symbol.

How is that more than you were looking to do? That's pretty much word for word what you were asking about but 100x easier than chopping the cab in half and adding 16" custom windows. 🧐

Excap.de - The Acela of Europe (?)

Pics above are better than I've ever seen! The Steyr 12M18 is manual, not auto like the LMTV. They are locked F&R (optional?) but the locker controls are on the dash. I'm not sure what the small lever is but it could be e-brake, I don't believe the Excap trucks are equipped with air brakes.

if you got the doe to import one....... A Steyr version of our cab comes in a Doka and an already stretched cab but not quite Doka if I recall right. Used on Fire trucks in Dutchland?

Less welding sorta.. but you would have to rewire and redo dash

OK, what is a DOKA, and what is Dutchland: the Netherlands (from Dutch) or Germany (from Deutschland)?

I can have a look around here, I am a Dutchman living on the border of Austria.

I put question mark in my post you quoted cause I dont remember exactly where the trucks I saw had their pics taken.... Austria, Netherlands, Deutschland Germany?.

I usually find myself in Germany once a year or so, haven’t in the last couple years unfortunately. I’ve always admired the Mogs doing duty on the flight line, and everywhere else. However I’ve never looked around at the Man truck cabs and similar trucks with the intent of using one on a LMTV chassis. I do miss the beer and food……

our cab was used on a Military Steyr 12M18 and same cab of different variation on other commercial trucks and fire trucks.

I’ve seen the video on the bottom one and the guy did some good work on the truck to get the camper on the back.
Some great redneck ingenuity… no offense to any rednecks out there.
I’ll go with this one as more “third world”.” With that said I still like both of them.
I like new and ingenious ideas…kudos to both!
